Common questions

FAQ

Thinking about reaching out but have a few questions first? You're in the right place. If you don't find what you're looking for here, feel free to ask during your free consultation call.

Getting started

Before you reach out.

Do I need to have everything figured out before I reach out?
Not at all. Beginning therapy can feel intimidating, and most people don't have a clear picture of what they need when they first reach out. That's what the consultation call is for — to talk through what's on your mind and figure out together whether we're a good fit.
How do I get started?
Fill out the contact form. I'll respond within 24 to 48 hours to schedule a free 15-minute consultation call. At the end of that call, if we're a good fit, we'll schedule your first full session.
What does the free consultation call look like?
A relaxed 15-minute call covering what's bringing you to therapy, how I work, availability, fees, and whether we feel like a good fit for each other. No pressure, no commitment.
What should I expect from the first session?
An intake in a safe, non-judgmental space to share what's been challenging, explore your goals, and begin building the therapeutic relationship grounded in trust, authenticity, and collaboration.
Logistics and fees

The practical stuff.

What are your fees?
$200 per session. I offer a limited number of time-limited sliding scale spots — typically for a 3 to 6 month period — to support clients navigating financial transitions. Please reach out to discuss availability.
Do you accept insurance?
I am a self-pay practice and do not bill insurance directly. I provide superbills after each session, which you can submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement. I recommend contacting your insurance provider to understand your out-of-network benefits before we begin.
How often will we meet?
Sessions are typically once a week. Frequency is something we'll discuss during the first session and revisit as needed — your treatment plan will be tailored to your specific goals and circumstances.
Is therapy in-person or virtual?
All sessions via telehealth. I see clients located in New York and New Jersey. Virtual therapy offers the same quality of care as in-person work, with the added flexibility of meeting from wherever you are most comfortable.
Clinical questions

About the work itself.

Who do you work with?
Children, adolescents, and young adults (ages 8 and up). I am open to seeing clients who fall slightly outside this range when it's a good fit. My practice is affirming and inclusive — I welcome clients of all genders, backgrounds, and neurotypes.
What concerns do you specialize in?
Eating disorders, OCD, and ADHD. I also work with clients navigating anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder, which frequently co-occur with these concerns. I do not currently work with schizophrenia or active substance use disorders — if this is what you're looking for, I'm happy to help with a referral.
What happens if I need a higher level of care?
Your safety is always the priority. If at any point it becomes clear that a higher level of care would better support you, I'll work with you to identify the right options and help facilitate that transition. I also collaborate closely with treatment teams to ensure care is coordinated throughout.
How do you handle crisis situations?
In crisis situations, I connect clients with appropriate crisis resources and provide guidance to ensure their immediate safety. I collaborate closely with their treatment team and offer referrals or support to help them access a higher level of care when needed.
